There is a bird here in Indo-Malayan region you can hear almost every day for a year or two, and remember well the voice, but never see the bird itself. It is the Asian Koel (Eudynamys scolopaceus), it sings usually in a dense foliage, choosing the place so it can even fly away without being seen. James Corbett wrote about this bird as the mystery from his childhood. It's this bird I have chosen to be the first try of my bird voice recording. The quality of the uploadable file isn't good, but I will be solving the technical problems step by step, and now this is the first voice. There is also some songbird there for a moment, but you will not mix it up.
И вчера мне удалось наконец-то разглядеть и сделать кадр обладателя такого голоса.
And yesterday I finally could see well and take a picture of the bird itself.
Похож на нашу обыкновенную кукушку, правда?
It's really similar to Eurasian cuckoo, isn't it? Do American cuckoos look similar too?
